Today I mostly worked on the pitch pack layout and information.It isn't very viusally appealing but I need to make sure I have everything I need to pass the assessment first.I made a checklist and the things I need to do next are: (not in any order)

- Animatic (apparently animatic isn't a word,thanks spell check...)
- Answers to key questions
- Storyboard
- Turnarounds/Model sheet for the elder dragon
- Reference images for the supporting characters
- Environment references
- Schedule
- Signed coversheet

WORKING TITLE
‘Civilized Dragon’
DURATION
This short film will have a duration of near 2 minutes in length to get the story across with the best pace.

GENRE
Fantasy

MEDIUM
Digital 2D animation,Though the human characters could be better shown in 3D.

LOG LINE
A civilization of cultured dragons are attacked by barbaric humans.Leaving the city is destroyed, the surviving dragons escape.The dragons get their revenge by becoming savage beasts,the creatures humans have told stories about for generations.

FEASIBILITY
This project will require a team of 6 2D animators and two 3D animators over a period of 14 weeks.
The project includes two main characters, the elderly dragon and young dragon, and supporting characters; Dragon guards,Humans and Dragon citizens.
There is enough time for the work allotted; the majority will be walk cycles of dragon citizens with a focus of the civilized atmosphere.

Life Drawing:
Today was life drawing,and after some ..convincing from my tutor I went.It was actually the only drawing I got done at course today as I had been working on the pitch pack info and layout all day.
Decided to scan one of the drawings in.

Script:

Today I finished my script for the pitch pack,although I'm not sure if I went about it right or if the ending suits.

FADE IN:

EXT. VALLEY,DRAGON CITY – AFTERNOON

A walled off Dragon city surrounded by hills deep in the valley and mountains. Faint sounds of the city in the distance fade in.

EXT. DRAGON CITY,STREET – AFTERNOON

The street is bustling with all sorts of different members of the civilized dragon race going about their daily lives.

One big dragon character,An old ELDERLY DRAGON hobbles through the street with his cane watching the other dragons around him pass by as he slowly makes his way through the street.

The ELDERLY DRAGON squints as something gets caught in the reflection of his glasses.

The ELDERLY DRAGON looks up from the city

ELDERLY DRAGON

“Huh?”

As the sun sets,towards the hills he notices the silhouette of a figure rise from over the hill on the horizon.

The figure appears hunched over and brute-like.

Several other figures pop out from over the hill and he notices they are all wearing masks.

The ELDERLY DRAGON'S expression quickly turns grim and he is shocked and begins to panic about what he has seen.

Fumbling his words the ELDERLY DRAGON cries out

ELDERLY DRAGON
"Humans! The humans are attacking!"

The once bustling busy street of the dragon city turns into panic and fear. The residents quickly run to hide indoors.

GUARD DRAGONS that looks like policemen with tall hats head through the escaping crowd in the opposite direction to defend the city from the HUMANS.

The GUARD DRAGONS arrive at the city gate,preparing for the incoming HUMANS. The GUARDS realize they are outnumbered.

Hordes of HUMANS run down from the hills menacingly and prepare to attack the city.

The GUARDS are quickly overrun and the city is destroyed by the HUMANS and goes up in flames.

A few surviving dragons are seen fleeing the city to go into hiding in the caves and mountains.

A YOUNG DRAGON hides in a cave hibernating for years.

FADE OUT:

EXT. VALLEY,HUMAN CASTLE – MORNING

The once YOUNG DRAGON emerges from the cave to notice that over the years spent asleep,the HUMANS have advanced and a new human castle in the place of the dragon city. The DRAGON is filled with rage in swoops down to the castle to attack.

As the DRAGON attacks,other dragons are seen swooping down to attack as well.
